Introduction
Launched in 1994,the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) is a national award that recognises individuals who delivered quality service. It seeks to develop service models for staff to emulate and to create service champions. Organisations participating in EXSA are committed to achieve service excellence.

Award Criteria

Eligibility Criteria
Organisations can nominate individuals for any of the award levels as long as they are eligible and meet the respective criteria. To apply for any category of award, individuals must have:
- At least 1 year of service with the nominating organisation
- Attended at least 1 Service Skill Upgrading programme in the last year. The Service Skill Upgrading programme can include any structured programme related to service delivery and service excellence.
The validity of all the award categories is for one year. Individuals who received the awards may be nominated for the same or different award category in the following year. For example, an individual who has attained a Gold award in the current year may be nominated for the Star award in the following year.
Development
EXSA is a development programme. Silver, Gold and Star award nominees who meet the criteria and are shortlisted for the awards must attend a 4-hour Development workshop to reinforce and sustain a consistent level of service after receiving the awards. A 100% attendance is required by the nominees to qualify for the awards.
EXSA 2024 Workshop fee is S$80.00 per nominee for RAS members and S$100.00 per nominee for non-RAS members, subject to 9% GST.
Excellent Service Award (EXSA) 2024 Ceremony
The Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) recently held the Excellent Service Award (EXSA) 2024 ceremony on 05 November 2024. This event recognised and celebrated the outstanding service staff in Singapore's vibrant F&B industry. Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth & Ministry of Trade and Industry, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
The ceremony showcased the immense talent and dedication prevalent in the sector, with a remarkable total of 2,456 nominations received for the award this year. Out of the nine exceptional finalists, one were awarded the highest honour of EXSA Superstar 2024, representing the pinnacle of service excellence in the industry. The Superstar accolade was accorded to Mr Vedamuthu Rex Kulandairaj from Jack's Place.
During the Award presentation ceremony, the other eight finalists were also present, each representing diverse backgrounds and sharing stories of dedication and passion. They included Ms Rumiyati Binte Razli from Mcdonald's Singapore, Ms Er Jue Hui from McDonald's Singapore, Ms Nilam Nurdhaniah Binte Alec from Commonwealth Concepts, and Mr Premkumar Ganesan from Commonwealth Concepts, Ms Mok Piak Noi from Sushi-Tei, Ms Looh Hui Ching from Dian Xiao Er, Ms Teoh Pei Yee from Soup Restaurant and Mr Aristhotel De Leon Castro from Starbucks Singapore.
The Excellent Service Award serves as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate the tireless efforts of the passionate service crew who take pride in ensuring customers have the best possible dining experience.
