If you found your way here, you probably care about Singapore's food and beverage industry. Whether you run a restaurant, supply the industry, work in policy, or just love watching this city eat its way through every cuisine on the planet, this blog is for you.
The Restaurant Association of Singapore (RAS) has been the collective voice of the F&B industry since 1980. For most of that time, we have made our case in boardrooms, government meetings, and member networks. This blog is the first time we are doing it openly, here, where anyone can read along.

So what will you actually find here?
Our members include some of the most recognisable F&B names in Singapore, and many you might not have heard of. Both are worth knowing about. We will feature them as part of our ongoing membership engagement work, so you will hear from the people running the businesses behind your favourite restaurants.
F&B is harder than it looks. Margins are tight, regulations change, talent is scarce, and rents do what rents do. We will share what we are hearing from operators, what we are advocating for behind the scenes, and what the data is telling us.
When the media writes about us, we will collect it here so members and the public can keep track of what we have said and done in the wider conversation.
Singapore's people's choice F&B awards run by RAS. You will find coverage of nominees, winners, and what the awards mean for the industry.
Hey, we are a not for profit organisation. We are SUPER open to advertorials. If you would like some advertisement positioned as an article, we can discuss the specifics. Drop me a line.
A small confession before we begin. I am the comms team. One person, juggling a lot. So I will not promise daily posts, breaking news on the hour, or content that tries to outrun the proper journalists who already do this for a living. What I will promise is that when RAS publishes something here, it will be worth your time. We will write when we have something to say.

We are also building this in public. The blog you are reading, the new website around it, the Members Dashboard, The Pantry resource hub for operators, all of it went live on 21 May 2026. To be honest, we are still working out some bugs and kinks. What matters is that it is definitely better than the last site we had. When you pay peanuts, you get monkeys, am I right?
If you are an RAS member and you would like access to the new site, drop Jared (jared.chan@ras.org.sg) or myself (james.chan@ras.org.sg) a line and we will onboard you manually. It is still a bit of a manual process on our end but we are working on making it as seamless as we can. If you are not yet a member, you can find out what we do at /membership.
Welcome aboard.
